HomeCare Matchmakers is a non-profit, on-line Directory of self-employed homecare workers, ready to meet your staffing needs as independent contractors. Our Directory of self-employed RN's and Home Health Aides (HHA's) is a free service.  We are a consumer-directed service  that allows seniors to select their homecare worker from our Directory of Homecare Associates.
Our Homecare Associates provide services to the eldely and disabled in their homes, on their terms.  Our self-employed homecare workers empower people to make decisions about the services they want and how they wish to receive them. A 1997 survey conducted for AARP found that more than three-fourths (76 percent) of people age 50 and older would prefer to manage their own home care service rather than receive services managed by an agency.
Our directory  lists certified home health aides who can contract with Homecare agencies or individuals as independent contractors.  Our fees are the same for everyone.  Our minimum visit is for four hours.  We charge $60 per 4-hr visit and $15 per hour thereafter.  Medicare-certified Home Health Agencies can provide up to 28 hours (sometimes 35 hrs.)  of Medicare-reimbursed Home Health Aide services to eligible homebound Medicare recipients.  (See Medicare Home Health Rules. )  Our Medicare Home Health Associates are reimbursed on a "per visit" basis and each visit lasts a minimum of four hours--the same as our private-pay visits.  We charge $72 for overnight services from 9 p.m. to 9 a.m.

Designed with the Homecare Consumer in Mind
Our concept comes from the Wisconsin Co-op Care model, created in 2001 to "strengthen and expand its homecare workforce by transferring management of the service from the County to the care providers".  We see this small directory as a pilot program for a state-wide Homecare Workers Directory, or Registry which lists all certified home health workers and indicates if they have special training in hospice care, dementia care and Medicare Advocacy.
